On this page we have listed the answers to a few questions we commonly get. If you have some further questions please don't hesitate to contact us.
Can my child join after the start of a course?
Yes, if there are still free places in the course. Usually the maximum number of kids is 8 for a course. (10 for summer school courses.)
Can a child join the course without any prior English knowledge?
With most of the courses, yes. This is especially true with the baby courses. Give us a call and we’ll see what we can work out.
At what age should my child start learning English?
Starting from about 6 months, children can understand spoken language.
Studies have shown that learning the fundamentals of a language before 6 are highly beneficial to having a good accent.
Isn’t my child too young to learn the ABC?
As long as it’s fun they can learn letters.
Also, English phonics are more complicated than their Hungarian counterpart, once kids have learned the Hungarian alphabet, it gets harder for them to learn English pronunciation.
We aim to give an intro to reading and writing rather than develop proficiency.
Can I stay inside the classroom while my child is learning?
For Tickle Time and Baby steps, a parent must stay in the classroom and engage in the lesson with their children.
In the Jump Start course parents can join in at the end of the lesson to see what we have done on the lesson.
For older students we will have some observation lessons where parents will be invited to join.
How can I pay for the course?
You can either pay in the office (Babilon Language School, opening hours) or contact the school for information about bank transfers.
What if my child if sick and misses some lessons?
If 50% or more of the kids can’t make a class then we will schedule a makeup lesson. If you know you are going to miss a lesson, please inform us as soon as possible.
